Hey guys, had a small incident this weekend and wanted to give you a warning of a potential issue.
I was putting some highway miles in and stopped to pay a toll. When I was paying it smelt like something was on fire, so I pulled over to inspect. There was what I assume was some kind of dog bone shaped heat shield laying across my exhaust smoldering and smoking.
I've spent two days trying to figure out what it was. It was right by the emissions control box, kind of fibrous, shaped like a dog bone and both ends were held onto the body with a plastic nut. I drive an 03 and I guess in 15 years it finally broke in half and decided to lay on the exhaust. Any idea what it was/what part number it is? Thanks for your help!
