Potentially buying my first car ever today. A used 4th Gen 4Runner. Help?!

I think he bought Runner, and set off on a cross-country off-road trip.
By now, he's probably plowing through some farmer's corn field in Iowa,
making monkey-shaped crop signs,
and wondering where all the hills went !!

This is an interesting thread... It's funny to see the variance in pricing between the midwest and the NE. I used to live in CT and NY, and I would assume they command good prices there too. Doesn't seem to be the case.
In June, I bought a used 08 4Runner SR5 that was in pretty good shape. It didn't have a sunroof (which I surprisingly don't miss), the body had some surface rust, and it had little stuff that needed a spit shine, but it only had 82K on it. I picked it up for $14K cash. I thought that was a good deal for an 08' in the area...
Seeing these cars is astounding. 60K, 55K for 04s, 05s... I know they're around, but man...and the pricing... Hopefully he finds a good one.
