To me that is too high and the guy is giving you a general setup charge cost. I'm assuming you are doing something simple like flat black or black wrinkle? Some people have been quoted here 300 for a bumper and I'm sure a bumper needs a lot more paint than a set of sliders.
Look around that is definitely too high though. I think ~200 (even less) is more reasonable for a 1 time customer looking to powder coat only sliders.

Yea if you have a hookup it can be really cheap. I didn't want to say 100-150 and get your hopes up. But a slider doesn't require a lot of powder.
If he is doing a layer of primer and then powder coat it'll be a bit more expensive and a much stronger bond. But I think powder right on the metal is fine. And no, its not that expensive. I'd suggest negotiating somewhere else. Not sure how i would feel about a guy doing work for me if he tried to charge me 350 and ends up doing it for 100. Doesn't sound too trustworthy to me.

I am getting my front bumper done just straight black from a shop and they are charging me 150.

I think you're much better prepping and coating them yourself. Put the money in good paint and multiple coats.

I ended up getting my bumper blasted and coated with their tougher powder coat for 150 at a shop locally. 300 is way to high for sliders IMO
FWIW the shop that did my wheels said they could blast and powder coat the frame on my Cutlass convertible I'm restoring for around $400. I think $350 is to high for some sliders. The wheels I had dome included blasting.

That price is on the high side. Reputable shops tend to charge higher, but more than likely you'll get what you pay for.
I would recommend you to shop around or stop by different shops to check out their operation.

There's Maas Brothers in Livermore if you're after high quality powder coating, but you'll pay a premium. Melrose Metal Finishing and Painting in Oakland that's decently priced and does good work. For simple colors and items that don't need a lot of prep work, Leon's Powder Coating will probably have the best price.

thanks again for all the replies. here is what the shop said after I said the price seemed way too high:
"Our price is based on having to do allot of prep work (which is almost always the case) and zinc based under coating, if your bars just need standard prep and no undercoating we should be able to coat them for around $160.00."
