Powdercoating Wheels Question

I was thinking about powder coating my wheels black once I get new A/T tires. I was wondering if the minor road rash would come through or would they sand it down so you wouldn't be able to see it ever existed. Also, about how much would it cost to do the set of 4? I figure it's probably cheaper than buying aftermarket black wheels and these are probably better quality.
