power antenna

i went to get in my 95 4runner the othere day and the power antenna wont go up and its just stiil there grinding away i looked around to see if there is access to get to it but it looks like i have to pull the fender off to get to it is this true has any one else had the same problem

You can pull the plastic liner of the fender away inside..then there is like 2 bolts for it that hold it in there. Undo the top bolt that holds the mast piece on top of fender first..then 2 bolts inside and then it all come out.
Search around here for replacing power antenna mast..you'll find some pics.

Suggest first try removing the nut on the antenna shaft and then turn the key on and with any luck the antenna will feed itself out. To install replacement the procedure is done in reverse. If this does not work seem to recall there's a cover guard between the fender and antenna motor once removed should give one access.
