Power Antenna

Has anyone had any luck installing an aftermarket power antenna on a 1st gen 4runner? I've searched the junkyards and it's nearly impossible to find an original. My concern is finding one that has the correct fender grommet that matches the angle on the fender. And one that will work with the original power antenna button on console.

What is wrong with yours?
If it's the mast you can get a replacement from Toyota.

Mine is missing the complete assembly. All I have is the wiring harness for the motor hanging there.

There are plenty of aftermarket antennas, but maybe not plugNplay.
I think the base mounting is fairly standard.

I have an aftermarket that i'm going to try to install on my T4R project, the base has a swivel to fit any angle mounting point. I've had it for years and finally have a use for it now.

I replaced mine on my 2dn gen with a whip antenna from a Tacoma using the instructions here:

I think this is the mast only. I need the motor too. I posted a WTB in the classified forum. Maybe someone will have an extra or be willing to sacrafice theirs for money and a whip style.

Oh man we will have to meet up sometime then i live in piedmont and work in powdersville. Parts wise i havnt been able to find much from junkyards around here for my 87 4runner. I may have the motor for your wiper id have to look and see i may do the whip mod.
