I have a 3rd Gen (2001) 4Runner and I'm experiencing issues with my door locks not working when the truck sits in the sun. I live in AZ so it's no surprise that the truck gets pretty warm (read hot) in the summer.
I've seen a number of threads discussing failed actuators and several folks mentioned that the heat causes their door locks to stop functioning. I haven't seen any responses indicating whether or not replacing the actuator resolves the problem.
I'm reluctant to spend more than $100 plus labor to replace the thing if it's not going to resolve the issue. Can anyone confirm that replacing the actuator actually resolves the issue or does it continue to be a problem even with a new one?
