Power lock going out

The driver door power lock on my '99 limited is beginning to fail. For the last few months, the driver door lock sometimes does not lock or unlock when I use the remote of the power locks button on the driver door. The problem occurs more often when I have locked and unlocked the doors several times in a short period of time.

I assume that the lock mechanism is wearing out and will need to be replaced soon. I think this will be expensive at the shop.

Has anyone replaced the lock part (actuator?) that controls the power lock? Is it an easy job? Where can I get a good price on the replacement part(s)?

So I ordered the driver door power lock actuater part. I should get it in the next few days. I would like to replace the part myself, to save the shop cost. Anyone ever done this and have some instructions?
