Power Pack Amp Install

I have ordered an Alpine KTP-445U 4-channel Power Pack Amplifier to freshen up the JBL Synthesis system in my 2008 4Runner. It's my understanding that I will replace the existing amp with this unit.

Before I go poking around, I want to know for sure if I do actually remove the existing amp and replace with the Alpine and where is the existing amp located?

I assume it's a plug 'n' play type setup.

i wouldnt waste my money on that, either get a real amp and new speakers, or leave it alone, lots of people want to use aftermarket with oem, some just dont know that it cost more for that than to go all aftermarket, just save up for some good stuff.

I'm not wanting to rattle windows or piss people off at stoplights.High explosives, gunfire and heavy machinery have ruined my hearing. I just want a little boost to my OEM system.

No one knows anything about this unit?

I don't know anything about that unit in particular but I've worked witt plenty of alpine amps. I'm just trying to point out that your JBL has 10 speakers which is more than 4 channels. Unless you're trying to cut out the center channel and sub or power them some other way

The JBL amp only has 4 channels and 10 speakers.

If you pull the amp out you should be able to plug a Best Kits BHA1761 into the harness and power all 10 speakers with what ever you have. Head unit or an amplifier.

Are you installing an after market head unit? I would do a head unit and take out the factory amp, and go from there. You will be surprised at how good it will sound but you will shorten the life of the speakers.
