I just replaced my steering rack and had to disconnect the pressure line from the power steering pump. When I took off the banjo bolt I had a spring, some kind of valve looking piece with a couple holes on the sides and what looks like small spring inside those holes and also a shiny metal cylindrical looking piece that also came out. How do these go back in? I have searched the best I can and looked for diagrams but can't figure out which order they go? Also, I thought I put these parts back In the way they came out and after bleeding the system I have no power steering. The truck does turn but it's as stiff as a rock. Any help greatly appreciated. I would post a pic if I could find what I'm talking about.

haha I just went through this and put it together incorrectly the first time. The spring goes in first, and then the flow valve needs to go the correct way... I forgot which way is the correct way
Thanks, I'm glad I'm not the only person to get these mixed up. So I must have reversed the direction of the flow valve. I will check when I get home from work tonight. Maybe snap a few pics to post in case someone else does this too. Did your power steering just not work at all when you switched yours around? What kind of symptoms did your truck display? I hope that's all I did wrong.

Yeah it was just like i didnt have power steering. It was kind of annoying to get the flow valve out
Thank you both for the diagrams. Lookatthatdog, thank you for confirming I had the spring and valve in the power steering pump in the wrong locations. I switched the them to the correct locations and all is running well. I also went ahead and took my runner up to the shop for an alignment after the rack install. Took forever for Safari Limited to get me the rack but it looks pretty nice and should last a while I hope.
