Power Steering Pump Leak Common?

Sorry to revive old thread. I changed my oil last night on my 2011 Limited. Noticed my pump is saturated with either oil or PS fluid-although I have not lost any. How hard was it to changed the VVT line?

Just replaced my VVTI oil line along with the banjo bolts and gaskets.
The lower part of the VVTI oil line fitting closest to the engine did not look great after I removed and cleaned it up. Looks like some pitting. Possibly the source of the problem?
To do the job I also unbolted the two bolts on the power steering pump and let it hang. I also freed the wires by unclipping the two clips. It also helps to remove the small splash shield in the top right corner of the wheel well.
While laying on the ground behind the wheel in the wheel well area I was able to easily get a socket on the lower bolt of the VVTI oil line fitting using about 18 inches of extensions.
The top banjo bolt has a small oil filter at the end that you don't want to lose. It looked OK, I cleaned it with brake cleaner and put it in the new banjo bolt. The bottom banjo bolt does not have a filter.

So, while browsing the "What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today" I came across a post from [MENTION=147414]EddieV4runnin[/MENTION] that intrigued me. He too thought at first he had a PS pump leak but is fairly certain it was actually the passenger-side VVT-i line. My leak seemed to be emanating from the lower connection to this line as well, so I figured why not go ahead and swap it out!

Just completed it two nights ago and so far it's clean under there. Did it fix it? Don't know yet.... but it may be worth looking into in your case. Unfortunately, it's a biotch to see up in that area from above, below, or from the wheel well. Here's the parts list for the job anyway. Good luck to you!
15772-31010 Pipe, Oil
90401-16043 Bolt, Union X2
90430-16016 Gasket, lower end of the line
90430-16012 Gasket, to Valve cover X2
Bolts may not be needed, but I replaced them anyway.
Banjo bolts are 48 Ft Lbs
Power steering pump bolts are 32 Ft Lbs
You need to disconnect the PS pump and let it hang to access the lower bolt and remove the air filter to get easier access to the top bolt. Whole job took me 2.5 hrs from beginning to end.
