What have you tried so far? I broke mine loose with a breaker bar without too much trouble. If you're trying to break it loose with a normal wench or ratchet it probably won't budge very easy and may break a ratchet. Did you spray it down with PB Blaster and let it sit for a day or so?
You're talking about the 22mm one, right? You may need to put the truck up on a lift or tall stands so you have more room to get the leverage you need with the breaker bar. I have a lift so it was easier to get a turn on the bar under the truck.
Ok, I know which one you mean. Got air tools? You may try an impact ratchet or butterfly with a universal on it and just hold it on there till it breaks it loose.
It is the center 19mm bolt
Reviving an old thread cause now I have another question...
I changed my rack bushings and my center bolt and nut came out. I did use my cordless impact on the nut and a wrench on the bolt to hold it. it all came out. Did I break the weld? I did notice the nut isn't a standard tall nut with a lot of surface area on the nut and did almost ruin the nut and need to replace it now so ill probably just get a flange nut and run it. But just curious if they are actually welded on.
If you got the vertical bolt AND nut off then yes, you broke the weld. I imagine this is not the end of the world, but it is one more point of vibration/movement, however slight it might be.
