Power stop brakes for third gen

Afternoon,
i am looking to do the 199mm caliper upgrade for my 01 limited and had a couple questions about parts.

Has anyone had experience with Power Stop brakes? rock auto carries them in complete kits and it seems to be a good price considering i cant find new ones from toyota for anywhere close to this price. This is the kit i was considering below.

Second question is that would it be worth it to go with Toyota calipers even though they run 350 a piece?

Pretty much everything you need to know about the TBU. It's not at all worth it to spend that much on OEM calipers when you can get complete kits for less than the cost of one. that looks like a solid deal, does that include the core charge? if i have 16" rims i should be fine with this kit correct?

Buy used but rebuild able tundra calipers

and new 199 rotors. Als make sure theyll clear your wheels.. :girl:

Yeah, no extra core charge. What you see is what you pay. Whether or not your wheels fit depends on the back spacing/offset. If they're listed as proper fitment for a late first gen Tundra, then they clear the calipers.

Holes and slots are just for looks on street vehicles. They have a lot of drawbacks and do not increase performance. If they have a version that is not drilled or slotted I would go with that.

I put the k1236 power stop pads and rotors on about 3 months ago. Best decision i've made in a while. Totally worth the $150 on amazon.

What kind of drawbacks are you talking about, just introducing dirt under pads?

I play in the dirt,and sand now and then and have no issues.

That and they reduce pad life, reduce brake surface area, reduce rotor mass to act as a heat sink, can't normally be resurfaced, etc. It is worse than stock in a panic stop situation. Improvement will come from your choice of pads.

It is really one of those "because racecar" mods that makes no sense on a street car.

i think i will probably end up going with brembo rotors and toyota pads then. im still not sure which calipers to go with.
