powersteering pump failing after trail ride

So against my better judgement, I went to a trail ride event on Saturday. It had been raining quite a bit, but the sun was out and I was hoping itd dry up.

No dice. My 4r got beaten up really bad with pinstriping but thats a different issue.

I did have to go through several pretty deep mud holes. The 4r drove home fine no issue. Starting it up the next day and the steering wheel was jerky. I got this video of turning the wheel side to side and you can hear the power steering pump clicking.

Now, my whole engine bay was covered in a coating of mud. Are there any components that I can try to particularly clean out or electrical adapters/ plugs that I should pay attention to and see if it cleaning out repairs the issue or does my PS pump just need to be replaced whether the mud was causative or not?

All the answers are pretty basic;

Hose the mud out.

Check the reservoir, is it empty/low refill.
Check the hoses for leaks that led to a empty/low reservoir [my bet]
Check for puncture/leak at radiator
Replace/refill as needed

Fix before driving much, to avoid damaging the rack or pump.

Yea probably should have mentioned - no leaks, reservoir full of fluid and no indication of any loss

Any chance the belt is slogged with mud and now slips too much?

I think you may be right bc my AC is also malfunctioning and the belt would tie both of these together
