I been using powerstop rotors for the last year and they do not rust at all unlike OEM
Ok. This is my first time doing brakes (ever) and I'm just trying to take this all in. There is so much to choose from. I Like that the PowerStop has the red calipers. Just concerned that they will freeze up like the rest of them

Powerstop does not make calipers. They do make great rotors and pads though

can confirm, lol. i also purchased these. no feedback yet as i haven't swapped it all out yet. they look very nice with only a few minor issues in the powdercoating.

We all need to remember location as well. Looks like you live in Chicago where roads are probably salted a lot more. My Rotors look fine in NC

I have the power slot slotted rotors, had them for about a year and no rust from the NJ winters.
I like them, i usually warp my rotors within a year from stupidity or what not but these have been good.

went with centric 12044128 for the fronts (5th gen) and centric 12044174 (4th gen) for the rear. the 5th gen rear rotors have a very slight hole pattern difference.
after a ton of doubting myself and being indecisive i went with hawk hps 5.0 pads on the front and ebc yellowstuff in the rear. i prefer metallic pads, and love ebc, however my commute to work is constant 0-40-0mph over and over. the ebcs suffer the heat pretty badly and are dirtier than (insert ex girlfriend references here). hawks have a lot of love here and figured i'd try the ceramics for once.
So you're saying that you went with PowerStop 4th gen calipers with 5 gen rotors???

5th gen calipers all the way around. 5th gen front rotors, 4th rear rotors.
Pads are all the same.

warping isn't a thing that happens, so slotted/drilling has no effect there.
WRT heat dissipation, sure there's an advantage there. I believe thats what they are meant for. however that's in the racing realm of things and I doubt it has noticeable effects on our vehicles. except tearing the pads faster. I'll take more surface area and longer lasting pads over a slightly cooler if at all rotor.
