Predicament....

I am ordering a toytec 3" OME lift and a 1" toytec body lift. I want to upgrade my shocks in this process but have no idea wether to go with the OME shocks or the Bilstien shocks. Both are the extended shocks from toytec.com.

Any input or preference would be greatly appreceated!

I like OME, but I'm an Aussie, so maybe I'm biased!

They're both good shocks, but the OMEs are designed to match the OME coils. Even though they were designed for the Prado, Prados and 4 Runners are very close in size and weight.

Aussie knows best

I have normal height Bilsteins on my 99 Runner and also had them on my 95. They really improved the ride and handling on my 95 (2nd gen) but less so on the 3rd gen.

I have never heard or read anything bad about the Old Man Emu shocks or springs-but be sure to get the ones that match your needs as far as load and lift, I believe they come in 2 or 3 varieties of stiffness/pressure.

For example if you plan to add a winch and/or ARB bumper you should expect a little sag up front due to the weight you will be adding so plan ahead shock and spring wise.

Best of luck with your lift and let us know how it all turns out.
