Pretty accurate metering

Over the Memorial Day weekend took a round trip from my place to my brothers place. From Fernley NV via Reno, Portola CA, Quincy CA to Paradise CA. This is crossing the Sierra Nevada and then all mountain driving; much of it lots of twists and turns. Through the Feather River Canyon most of it 35 to 50 mph. From Hallelujah Junction to Fernley mostly straight highway and 65 mph.

Filled up initially in Fernley - drove 394 miles - filled up on return again in Fernley. It took 18.1 gallons. Calculated out to 21.76 miles per gallon. The dash guage said it had done 20.9 mpg - that's 96% accuracy!

Nevada to Calif route

Looks like a great route. I will have to give it a try the next time I cruise up the eastern Sierras. Would like to see more pic's of the flowers.
Yes, that's pretty accurate on the gas gauge.

Probably that far off because the MTs are slightly bigger than the stockers.

Norther Nevada desert flowers:

Thanks for the added photos. That's fine desert scenery. It's a lot drier here in So Cal, to the south of this place.

That Land Rover is a nice vehicle but costs $10k more than a T4R. The 4Runner has more space for gear too.

Actually my Land Rover was a few hundred dollars LESS than my present 4Runner SR5. It was the "S" model 2004 Discovery (Discoveries came in "S", "SE" and "HSE"). The "S" was like the "SR5" base. The "SE" added leather, fancier stereo, more speakers, moon roof, seat armrests, upgraded carpets, fancier headlights, body colored bumpers, fog lamps, bling. The HSE got an even fancier stereo and even more speakers, actual wood on the dash and door panels, blue tooth, and more bling. All three models had the exact same drive train = full time 4wd, lockable center diff, solid axles both ends, two speed transfer box, 4.6 liter V8, 4ETC (A-Trac), etc.

The expensive rigs back then were the Range Rover models ($60,000 to $100,000).
