Price check on 07 4runner Sport

Wow that's a great price. I think I would have a hard tiem buying on Ebay, so kudos to you for being brave enough to pull the trigger on something you've never driven. Sounds like it worked out for you!

Thanks, yea I love the truck so far and it left me some room for upgrades. Not too much risk in buying on ebay if you pay for and collect the truck in person. If it ended up being a turd I coulda walked away.
 
For what its worth, I am also in the market so I can upgrade from my rav4. I found a 2007 with 70k miles in philly for 13,900. After some digging and reading, it was unfortunately involved in 2 accidents and a repossession. What are all your thoughts on a cars history reflecting it was a rental car?

I wouldn't run just because of that. I've owned cars with salvage titles before. A minor accident like a fender bender is no big deal if repaired correctly. If you don't know what to look for take it to toyota for an inspection before you buy. With that said, I'd use the trucks history to bargain a bit more. The market puts a premium on low mileage cars obviously, but condition and maintenance upkeep is probably more important on these trucks than mileage.

I was thinking of doing that. The first accident listed on the carfax was a rear end collision but it stated that it was drivable, the second one said it was towed, as for the repo, who knows lol. I really like the looks from the pictures and I did contact the dealer for more info and pictures before I go driving 2 hours to see it and possibly buy it. I has everything I want/need in it. Im thankful my friends/family talked me away from the Xterra and back to the trusty Toyota side

This is very true I picked up my 05 sport V8 4WD about a month ago and it had been traded in two days prior and someone else was trying to buy it the same day. They actually were on a test drive when I went to go look at it but we're trying to play hard ball too much with the dealer. That said it was a one owner NC car, 120k and I have every service record and it was meticulously cared for. Price was 9800...they were asking 12500
 
This is what drives me nuts. I tried to sell my 06 4x4 v6 sport with 70k miles about 8 months ago for blue book value and never got a real offer. Clean title, no rust (in Texas all its life). Yet I kept seeing much higher mileage vehicles selling for much more. Then I thought about putting it up for sale again last week (I really want a truck again) and someone hit me in the parking lot pushing in a chunk of the rear bumper. No damage other than the plastic bumper, but now I'm looking at a $500 fix just to put it up for sale again and not take a big hit on price. If i wanted to buy this same vehicle I would end up having to pay top dollar, but when I'm selling it seems like no one is interested

I bought my 06 v6 4x4 SR5 w/100k here in Reno/tahoe for $17k. Very strong market for 4runners here. They usually dont last but a few hours on the market. The first 2 that i was looking at were sold before i could get to the dealership/owners house inside of the same day of the ad being posted. aha

It's definitely a grind to find the right one. I'm glad you found one!

I finally finished my search last night...found a 05 V8 with 155k miles and picked it up for $12k. It is a beauty, hardly any rust and well taken care of.

I bought it 6 hours after it was traded in and there were guys waiting in the lobby seeing if I was going to go through with it haha.
 
It's sound about right

ive found a 07' with 50k for an 18k asking price. Its the color i want, the trim level i want but i cant swing more than 16.5k. I'm wondering if i should just hold still and wait for something with a few more miles and cheaper. Ive been 2 months w/o a vehicle and this shits getting old...
