Price paid for TRD Pro

Hey guys. Sorry if this is too personal to ask but I'm really close to putting a deal together on a 2015 TRD Pro. I went in to look at an SR5 Premium but as I got there a black TRD Pro was rolling off the transporter. So land changed. ;) I'm pretty okay with what they're offering for my trade. However, were still a few bucks apart overall. They're at full sticker for the TRD Pro. Anyone seeing them negotiate at all on these or am I being naive? Out of principle I won't pay full price. So if this is the case I'll pas on it. I don't need them to move much either, a little over a grand would get it done.

If you guys don't mind posting, would you please comment with how much you got off the sticker for yours? Thanks in advance.

Cant help as I have a 2014 TEP, I was around 38,500 + TTL this includes KDSS but not the sliding tray. I saw this as about average, I saw a decent amount of people getting them for a little less and some that def paid a little more. At 35-45k I think you really have to ask yourself do you want it. If you do the small difference people fight for isn't worth it (to me)......yes 1000$ is a lot of money and you can do some nice mods for that but I wouldn't get to hung up on the costs if its really what you want.

Judging by your post count and signature you are an active user/modder of 4runners so I would think you would go for the SR5 Premium and mod the heck out of it. Beside the black interior trim panels the wheels, skids, badges, shocks I image could be added for ~half of the difference that the 2 (SR5P vs Pro) would costs. Don't quote me on that but something to consider.

Good luck with the transaction either way

I got $1500 off of sticker for mine give or take. However, they also undercut my trade from KBB/NADA by about the same amount... I just looked today, they have my trade listed for sale for $4000 more than I originally paid for it, which is pretty funny.

Mine stickered for $43K+ and I was $41540 out the door (have to pay sales taxes separate here in OK).

I'd hold down hard on them. the '16's will be out before you know it so if you can't put a deal together on a '15, just wait a few months.

ALWAYS ALWAYS play one dealer against another if you don't feel like you're getting the best deal. You'll get more value that way.

I see your point BUT, I just got my title today. It says TRD Pro right on there.

Resale for resale mine against the scenario you laid out, the Pro wins for sure. If that isn't important to you, then by all means, go the other route but I have a tendency to trade out of vehicles sooner rather than later so for me it's a no brainer.
 
The trd pros are hard to come by. Some dealers will negotiate some won't because they know someone else will pay full price for it no problem. It's all in your hands man. Me personally I would just grab the sr5 premium n start modding. Hell I work for a Toyota dealer and I didn't get the trd pro. I'm happy with my choice. Just my 2 cents

I don't GAF what your title says, my TEP will beat the s*** out of your Pro any day. And if I had a kid he would be smarter then yours! :uzi:

I totally kid, your correct that modding a SR5 when selling it you would likely not recoup your costs. I am in the camp that plans to sell the 4runner when it needs to be hauled on a trailer to the scrap yard though or soon before so resale value means very little to me. I suppose most owners even on this forum will not share that idea but my assumption given the OP's amount of "aged" 4runners in his signature that this one would be around awhile but he may have bought all those used and already sold I didn't check :shrug:
 
I had two dealerships that only negotiated down to about $2,000 over MSRP. I finally found one in PA about a month ago and paid full MSRP. Hard to find and the dealers know it.
 
Yup, the dealers definitely know this is a hot commodity and are holding their ground. I managed to get $1000 off MSRP, but nothing more.

:lol: Awesome. I agree, if you plan to drive it into oblivion, you can save some money up front modding an SR5, if you might keep it 3 or 5 years and then sell and would be happy with the PRO mostly stock, then you will surely get a lot more for it then as long as you keep in in good shape.

BTW, I don't have any kids either! Turning 50 in a couple months and people have asked me for years why I never did. Some still think I should but I'm not interested in having a teen in when I'm in my mid 60's... If I did, I probably couldn't afford the Pro... :roadkill:

It's only available on one of the 4Runner models.
 
I got mine for $41k. I also waited 6 months for mine after being told it would be a 3 month wait, managed to get a free light bar installed and 1k off the deal so it worked out alright. Main reason i picked the PRO over any other model was the fact that i had no intention on doing any major mods to it and the way it sits now it's plenty capable of doing what i need it to do. Also another huge factor for me was the inferno color which i really dig.
 
When I bought my limited, dealer honored true car pricing but tried to rip me on trade (below low "fair condition" book on an immaculate car with less than 8k miles I was willing to let go for the "good" high book).

We were about 2k apart for about an hour of back and forth to "manager". Finally I flat out told the salesman..."this is what I will give you for the vehicle out the door" ($2k less than they wanted). "I don't care if you take it off the sticker or add it to the trade, but it's all I'm paying". Next trip to "manager" we had a deal! :clap2:
