I have a few questions.

I'm looking into a second set of rims and today, I finally found it. But, it was in an junk yard.

The guy asked for $125 for all 4, but I negotiated with him a little and got it down to $100 for all 4 + the spare.

Is it worth it?

I forgot to get a picture of the rims but out of the 4 rims, one looks slightly bent because it was side swiped on the driver side. the brake cover were still on it along with the lug nuts.

Overall, they look pretty beat. I was going to get the trd trail team edition fj cruiser wheels but the cheapest I found is $1500..

Also, they have a clock too, maybe ask the guy to throw it in? Anyone looking for parts? the 4runner is between the 1996 -1998 era.

Should I do it?

Thanks.

I would keep an eye on craigslist. If you're patient, you can snag a set for cheap. I've seen complete sets of OEM wheels in good condition going for $200-$400 for the set. Sometimes less, sometimes a little more.

If it were me, I'd stay away from that set, based on the description you provided.

Stay away from bent aluminum rims. Aluminum is not like steel...it can NOT be reshaped and is prone to cracking when you see a bend.

I agree bent aluminum rims are pretty much useless. That is a great price, but you get what you pay for. A lot of times people will upgrade their rims and want to sell the old rims, that would be the way to go. I bought a set of rims for my old Acura that way. I had non-alloy wheels and for $200 I got a set, I am sure the new owner, a 17 year kid appreciated my effort.:bravo:

Overall, the rims were pretty messed up.

I doubt repainting would change the looks of it.

The engine had like oil leaks all round..

I found another set of rims but the guy is asking for $400 with tires. Worth taking a look?

1996 Limited Toyota 4runner

Thanks Guys!!
