Yeah, had the rack shipped directly to Toyota of Bellevue/Michaels Toyota accesories department. They do a bunch of sweet builds on 4runners, Tacoma's and Tundra's.

SWEET!! Can you share your awning bracket setup? I am looking to do the same thing but have put off the awning/bracket purchase until I got the rack on.

If this is part of the Tacoma thread, then I do apologize, I will go researching tonight--although it is very hard to research on this forum and stay focused : )

Yeah took it to Mule expedition to have them fabricate a mount for it. I did not want it to float high on the rack which is the only option available. They drilled two holes to secure the awning. The pictures show it best.

Nice, clean install. I was debating mounting my awning the same way but was concerned that the doors would hit the awning when you open them. I used some brackets similar to the ARB ones but don't like how it sits above the rack.

Does your door rub the awning when you open and close them?

Nope no rubbing! They did drill two additional holes to make the awning more secure, we looked at the L brackets, but I didnt like the look and the PRinsu awning bracket sits way high above too and I did not want that. One of my biggest reasons for getting a full rack was for the awning for shade at dog events, so I was okay drilling the two additional holes to make it more secure. They did a really good job and made it look clean.

On my 4Runner with the Yakima basket, I used a set of Fourtrek awning mounts, but on my Outback I modified a Rhino Rack Foxwing mount like this to fit my ARB awning.

I'm hoping the offset will work with the Prinsu rack's higher side rail. If not, I'm planning on using the method [MENTION=146257]Soccer13[/MENTION] used. Can someone with a rack installed measure the height from the top of the crossbars to the top of the side rails?

I'll bring the Foxwing mounts with me when we get together so that you can see them.

Those look similar to the ARB L brackets, we tried those with the awning mount below coming off the top of the rack and it didn't give enough clearance for the awning without hitting the door, then if you reverse the L it sits way too high. The top of the crossbar to the side rail height is almost he same just a slight bit higher on the rail. The side rails height is 2.25" high.

That's what I was afraid of (too high), but I hadn't considered the door interference. I like the clean install of how you did it, anyway. It looks like early versions of the Prinsu rack had a second lower slot that would be perfect for the lower awning bolts.

I want to keep mine as low as I can. I'm 5' 8", and with my awning currently mounted on Fourtrek mounts on the top rail of my LoadWarrior, which is on top of the Thule crossbars, I need to be on tip-toes to deploy it!

No problem! Yeah flipping the L brackets works, but the door could not clear as the side rails were too short. I think the Tacoma racks have the lower second slots below too so essentially Mule just drilled them (2) not my rack to make it the same.
