lucky mine didn't have any damage, maybe a hole at the top area but didn't affect anything. Overall quality is good and I feel like he gave extra bolts, nuts, screws cause I'm laying everything out and I have a few extras left.

Despite not having instructions for the fj, I was able to piece it together without too much trouble. Installing the wind deflector tested my patience but overall the install was fine. I was able to do it myself except lifting it onto the roof, lining it up properly.

Looks great! Better instructions would've been nice, but it was fairly intuitive w/out them. Would've been nice if he had mentioned that there was locking washers and washers, I had the rack mostly assembled before I noticed.... Biggest thing that messed me up was how much extra hardware he sent.
Also, can I swap wheels?

I agree with kevinmai712...not the best packaging, but not the worst.
Being both a high-dollar and custom product, I would expect a little better. Personally, I would rather wait longer and have it be immaculate. (Props to Dustin at FN Wheels for setting the packaging bar very high). But on review, nothing appears to be damaged and I am still super excited to get this on.
On the plus side, I see extra hardware and even four eye-bolts.
And don't be hating on my pink slippies...

Thanks! did it myself, before it was a dark dark dark brown ( which made it look black ) spent the weekend stripping the paint and staining it

Has anyone considered using rubber feet to mount the front most point and NOT using the Plus Nut? like on the Baja rack? thinking about trying this but not sure if it is a bad idea or not. I can only think that it may not be recommended because this is a modular rack vs a rigid rack like the Baja. thoughts?

Is that some weatherstripping to go under the wind deflector? I didn't get any. Thankfully I've got a slight airgap, but that sure would be nice.

anyone has issue with the spacer being almost flush with the roof line? I got 8 short spacers and 3 tall ones
The spacers seem to be the weak link in Zach's kit

Thinking that I might need it, included it with my order and am glad I did...it looks like it's reinforced with a metal backing and cut longer than what's needed.
It doesn't seem like the fairing will rub like the plastic fairings I've had due to it being a integral part of the entire rack. Just thought it might help with the sound or ice buildup in the winter.

tell me about it... I ended up buying 24 more washers to raise it up a bit... if I didn't the achor would hit the top of the roof...
While I don't have my rack yet, I'm assuming the spacers have to be aluminum or steel. You can look on McMaster Carr's website for a spacer to fit your needs. They come in specific lengths, 3/8", 3/4" etc, or you can order long stock and cut your own. It might be a better solution than adding a bunch of washers. I guess you'd have to wait to get them though!
