Prinsu vs Frontrunner Input?

Actually looks pretty damn nice. I like how the crossbars are flush with the top, very good for RTT applications. How is it these companies can come out of nowhere, hire a few welders, and do 4-5 week delivery times, yet Gobi who has been disappointing customers with delivery times for half a decade or more cannot get past 4 months? I mean do they not pay a good wage? No doubt Colorado is a great place to live and hire welders, so there has to be an explanation why they would curtail their business so much. For every customer that buys a Gobi, my guess there is 5 others that would not wait the 3-4 months and buy a competitors rack.

Thumbs up on this rack!

Given the recent acquisition of Prinsu by CBI, much of the insight shared in this thread ought to be reconsidered, as so much of the negativity has to do with the disparity between promised and actual lead times on Zach's racks.

According to Prinsu's Instagram feed, he expects back log to be cleared in the next 5 or so weeks. Time will tell to see if this actually happens. In any case, the support of CBI should only make a good product better. The feed also says that neither the form nor the price will change.

Love my Prinsu. I didn't wait too long for mine and Zach was great to deal with. And the fact that CBI bought the rights to his racks I think the lead times will get a lot better. And it's sooooo easy to mount anything to the rack. And people complaining about mounting a RTT to these....really? There are things FAR tougher to work on than that. To me all the other ones just sit too high and look like cages on top of trucks. I wanted the low profile as I knew I would be running a RTT on my 4R. It's hands down the cleanest looking rack out there IMHO. But...it's all about what you want in the end.

Thanks guys for all the input, I am waiting to hear back from Prinsu as part of the deciding factor is if I can get the rack by end of August. I also spoke with frontrunner, the short rack that they show on there sight that only comes to the sunroof is the only option they have unless you want to go custom.

I sent Prinsu an email asking about timeline for getting the rack, CBI got back to me the next day and said they will be trying to catch up on orders and from the time I place my order I should have it within 6-8 weeks (no promises). I too hope they don't jack the price but would not be surprised.

I imagine the price will stay for the time being in order to gain new customers, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it jump another 200-300 by the end of 2018. I'd be willing to bet they paid a pretty penny for the rights to those racks and they're going to need to gain that back eventually.

My $.02

FWIW... I've had my PrInSu for about a year now and have really enjoyed it. Love the low profile and overall look. Also like the idea I can add additional cross bars where I want them and remove them where I dont (like over the sun roof). I dont have a RTT, but Ive put a bunch of other stuff up there (gear for camping, trash for dump, etc.) and its been rock solid.

Brian is there any chace you can post a full vehicle pic, mines silver also and trying to decide on what color to do the rack, and did you order it with the front wind guard already cut for the light? Looks great I am probably placing an order today.

Backlog not cleared, still at 12+ weeks lead time even though they changed website lead times to less. Customer service is terrible to deal with, excuses, run around, BS, and slow responses. Unacceptable to pass on lead times and production issues like this to the customer without being up front about it. If their website said 12+ week lead time then I could understand, maybe they could even beat that and I can feel like I got it "early". Hopefully all the right parts are shipped, spacers, correct wind fairing, etc. since I've read a few places on here and TW that incorrect parts were shipped or missing. So at the moment I'd say CBI has not improved the product or service at all, at least they've kept the price the same so far.

I've seen the missing parts issues (which has been resolved quickly in most cases) but it seems like the TW guys have been getting their racks pretty quickly. As in 4-6 weeks.
