Printer stops working

My Epson Stylus Photo 700 just does not deliver ink to the paper anymore. I had run out, so bought several boxes of ink a few weeks later and despite replacing the cartridges twice (two black and two color cartridges) the damn thing will still not print anything with black ink and only barely with color.

I have cleaned and aligned several times over with no improvement.

Any ideas? I hate to buy a new printer if I can do something to get this one back on line. It did work very well - including photo printing.

Thanks
Mark

For the cost of the new cartridges (OEM) you can buy a new printer. When you add up the cost of cartridges and photo paper it's cheaper to have color prints made. You have to use OEM cartridges to print true color photos.

My suggestion is to buy a cheap printer for your doc printing and have your photos printed at Costco.

I have found that when you let the print head dry out it is hard to get the ink flowing again. I had to clean the print head with alcohol/Q-tip and run the clean utility program a couple dozen times to get the ink flowing again.
