I purchased my used 19’ TRD Off-Road about 4 months ago from a dealer in a different city. Fast forward 4 months and I’ve purchased a few little plastic clips , and filters etc from the dealership in my city and was always asked for my VIN number and I figured I’d share it with them before I needed something very specific(parts wise) requiring it.
As soon as I did , within 4 hours I get a service bulletin pop up on my stereo head unit screen that this particular dealership is now my home dealership and that a service is due. Checked the box to never get this message again and I’ll be pulling the DCM fuse previously mentioned here.
I don’t think much in this world is private anymore but if I can disable it easily I will.
