Pro comp 65210K on SR5

So apparently when I ordered the 3”/2” spacer kit from pro comp the website is incorrect and they rear spacers don’t work. I haven’t received them in the mail yet but they’ve already shipped so I can’t cancel my order.

I was reading that you can modify the rear spacer to make it work but couldn’t find any details on how it needs to be changed. I’ve search on the forum and haven’t found anything. Does anyone have info on this?

I'm having that same exact kit installed on Friday. The shop mentioned to me that they would have to order a rear spring isolator for an FJ cruiser for everything to fit/work without modification. Do you think it's possible that this may be the only thing that you would need in order to fix your problem?

I’m unsure I’m new to this whole 4runner modding since we just purchased our first 4runner a couple days ago. I just don’t want to take everything apart to install just to realize that I can’t actually do the install. Surely someone on this page will know what exactly had to be done to mount it on a SR5 Prem.

Something I read said “grinding” the spacer to fit but I’m unsure what has to be changed. Maybe someone has some pictures, I’m hoping to do the install this weekend.

Not sure why pro comp says it will Work but it doesn’t actually?!

I'm having my local 4 Wheel Parts do the install for me and they said they could have their guy cut/modify the isolator or just buy the FJ Cruiser one and it would work perfectly. It's my understanding that this first picture is the current one on the 4Runner and the second picture is the one from the FJ Cruiser. Hopefully someone who already has this setup can confirm. If not, I'll let you know exactly what it is that they installed after it's finished on Friday.

Their appears to be a lip on the rear spacer that doesn’t sit inside of the top of the spring correctly. My father-law is a machinist, I may just have him turn down the spacer if anyone has the correct diameter of the hole it’s suppose to fit in?

Please update us on Friday so I can do my install on Saturday or Sunday lol

I'll see if I can get some pictures of what it looks like on the top and bottom of the springs before and after the install. I'll post them up Friday night. They told me that they have modified them before without any issues but if something happened and they trimmed too much, it could delay my install. I wasn't interested in any delays so I just had them order the part that would work. I would typically do this kind of an install at home but travel baseball starting up and having 6 kids kinda limits my wrench time at home. Sometimes kid help is just too much help on projects. Lol.

I have two kids, I couldn’t imagine six. Lol are you planning on changing the front UCAs? I seem to be getting mixed answers on if it’s needed and I’m not even sure which ones to go with that are reasonably priced.

I'm not changing them just yet. I want to see how everything rides and handles first. Hopefully they won't be needed. I've heard and read mixed opinions about it too.

Got the install done today and the extra parts were not needed. Everything went together perfectly with stock parts. Here is the before and after.

Cool so the stock parts Work from that kit and I don’t need the other top hat “plug”? I ordered it just Incase but it hasn’t shown up yet and I’m wanting to do the lift this weekend. Maybe I should try to tackle it without waiting on those other parts to come in!
