So, looked to take our new 07 V8 4WD T4R off highway, and upon arrival, I shifted to neutral, and switched from 4HI to 4LO. At this point, the 4LO indicator was flashing. As I shifted from neutral to drive, it continue flashing, but was also now beeping. It did not go away, even after driving for a bit. We cycled through all drives, including reverse.
At this point, we shifted back to neutral, and switched back to 4HI. Drove around a bit, and then shut the engine off. After starting her up again, we tried going into 4LO again on a coulpe attempts. The first one, as soon as we switched to the 4LO, this indicator, as well as the Diff began flashing, but no beeping even after we shifted to drive. They would not stop flashing even when we switched back to 4HI. So, we turned off the ignition again.
Upon restarting, the 4LO/Diff indicators were gone, so we attempted 4LO again, and this time it wouldn't beep, but once in gear, it sounded as if it was grinding. We immediately shifted back to neutral and switched to 4HI. Called it a day, and drove 60+ miles home.
This is on a T4R with less than 1K miles, and was the first attempt we made in going to 4LO. Taking her in for warranty inspection/repair, but any ideas what might be causing this?
