Problems/Issues with the 2014 4runner

Please post here any problems or issues you have encountered so far with your 2014 4runner.
Hi mods, please delete or transfer this thread if I have over-stepped.

here's mine as a prospective buyer. When I went to official toyota website, I noticed(so far) 2 missing things:
1.) the main 2014 4runner page gives you more choices of exterior colors, e.g. pearl white, but when you go to the '"build" page to start customizing your 4runner, there are fewer exterior colors, e.g. no pearl white.
2.) no accessories available yet on their 4 runner accesories page.
 
no offense meant to anyone... my line of work is quality assurance so the smallest problem is a problem nonetheless. I dont mean this thread to be a ding against toyota. it should in fact help the toyota quality control people.

I think that T4R comes in different colors depending of trim, at lest in Canada. But if I'm wrong then it looks more like a problem with Toyota web site : )

You are right [MENTION=56372]scanny[/MENTION]. [MENTION=100230]pacho[/MENTION] start a thread on website problems not something you don't even have yet. Literature says certain colors only offered on certain models. This is like starting a thread titled "Help - Broken Axle" and posting about paint chipping on the hood.

A problem I see with the 2014's, is that they are now on dealer lots;
and I haven't seen the 2013's being discounted all that much.

Strangely, this actually makes me feel better. Because I know I
got just as good of a deal in August as I would have if I had waited.

Maybe it's not a problem.:nod:
 
I have heard that in a disturbing number of the 2014 4Runners that have had pieces of toast dropped in them, the toast is landing butter side down! No word yet if Toyota is planning to issue a recall for this problem...

I died when I read this.

To [MENTION=100230]pacho[/MENTION] really, that is by no means the '14 Runner's fault, that's just a website glitch lool. A real problem with the Runner would be (this is not true, just an extreme example) if the running boards and the frame fall apart the day you drive it off the lot and the engine dies.
 
Not an Issue, but a let down

I have a 2011 with TRD Cold Air Intake and a Borla Cat-Back Exhaust and wanted to re-buy and install both into my new 2014 when it arrives.

Just heard back from Toyota who said that the TRD Intake will not fit (even though the engine is the same, I guess the engine compartment is slightly different?) and I haven't heard back from Borla about the cat-back yet...hoping they give me better news.

I'm a little bummed, but hope Toyota/Borla will make a new part # for the 2014s.:sick:

there is an entry in the owners manual about little noise the vehicle makes after you turn it off and during certain intervals if i remember correctly. my old '09 rav4 v6, '12 taco do this.

No, thats for the fuel evap system. What is in his video is with the new for '13 secondary air injection pump.

That noise doesn't seem normal. I've had a few vehicles with these, and when they aren't malfunctioning (which was maybe 75% of the time), they only made noise on start up.
 
That makes sense, thanks for the reply. I thought it was odd, it was almost like maybe back pressure was causing it when the engine cut-off.

+1. Got mine at the end of July and I haven't seen one cheaper.
