The new vehicle cannot be part of a rental or commercial fleet, or a livery/taxi vehicle.

which for the 2014's, oil change is at 10k since its syn oil. conventional oil is still 5k. for those engines that still run regular oil. I ran into the same issue at the 5k service, they only rotated the tires, no oil change. look at the shop labor/materials bill and it will probably only show a rotate.

kudo's for your dealer doing this since this is above and beyond corporate policy for the the Toyota care.

I think they hope that people either "forget", or it's "inconvenient" or trade their cars in elsewhere. Both the Tundra and 4runner benefit from this service as have past Toyota's in the family. It really is great to have. Of course they always find other things you "should" look into that aren't needed. I think they hope you pay for those items too, which I don't unless it's actually necessary.

My Nav/Radio reboots while driving too (2014 Limited)...has anyone else had this issue? Seems to happen more frequently.

Just got my 2014 and have the nav reboot issue. I get "lock ups" on the navigation (yet ipod still is playing. I get random reboots often. I've removed my phone completely, but still have the issues. I has the 3.2 update.

ok here's a problem that drives my up the wall.

So if I connect my iphone via Bluetooth or usb cord. I then try to listen a song off a youtube or songza or any other app other than the actual Iphone's music library and it starts playing the song from youtube but after a few seconds kicks it back to the Iphone's music library. It does it sometime, sometime after 30 sec of playing a song from youtube sometimes right away. This is garbage. In addition, the volume is different between youtube, so I crank up a good beat to a good volume and when it switches back to some Iphone's library random song it feels like my speakers are gonna blow right out or you cant hear nothing (depending what volume Iphone is preset in its library).
Any fix to this PLEASE!!!!

While it's nice to blame Toyota for all these entune issues, sometimes its not realistic. You are interfacing an iphone with Entune. You then add another link from youtube or songza. Somewhere something gets confused. Is it Entune? Maybe but it might be the silly Iphone can't get it right between songza and entune right? My advice would be this: If you want to hear music uninterrupted and quality
1. Play a CD
2. Play the radio (even xm!)
3. dedicated music source like ipod or phone with songs downloaded or a flash drive even.

Again, blaming entune for this is silly as it could be your phone too. I know a little about communications issues between devices so I just have an old ipod that I download songs onto every once in a while. It stays in my glovebox, plugged into the usb port and guess what: I have zero issues.

I realize all my options for uninterrupted quality tunes. I have XM and all that. We just like to choose random party tunes on snowboarding/camping trips with 4 people in the truck.
I have 2012 GTI and 2010 F-150 and both of those vehicles have zero problems performing the exact operation, nothing gets confused.....
I figured maybe someone came across the same issue and found a fix for it

Congratulations on no issues!!
When the system reboots on its own, freezes, etc, it makes it easy to look at the Toyota system FIRST when having other connectivity issues. If their system was released with these other major issues, then ill point to entune for the connectivity issues before I point to an iPhone or Samsung device. Just common sense.

2013 T4R engine ticking noise

Hi, my 2013 has an engine ticking noise. I took it to the dealer and they told me that this noise is a normal engine noise. It sounds like a valve noise. Does anybody has had or knows about this?

I've seen some posts on here about something around the side view mirrors that causes a whistling sound, but I'm pretty sure what you're talking about is different since you say it's only when accelerating. I searched through the forum looking for the high-pitched hum myself because mine does it, and all I found were the whistle posts. It's normal though. I test drove about 4 different 2014's and they all did it. I was just curious WHAT made the sound.

Thanks to both of you. That's what I figured but just wanted to make sure. I traded in a '12 Tacoma for my '14 4Runner so I'm not used to all the new sounds (squishy brake pedal sound and turbo sound on acceleration). Just needed some validation from other 4Runner owners.

Power Steering Pump failed

It's taken me over six months to decide to write this, I was so upset at the time.

I had driven the 2014 TE Premium for a little under 5,000 miles and had it serviced and checked before I was to move to Mexico.

I was within 20 minutes of the border, going for one last fill up and to call my ex-partner who I was separating from to say one last goodbye. While we were on the phone, the power steering failed.

I then had the rig towed on a flatbed. Took 4 days to diagnose and order the new part. Toyota paid for my hotel.

I had just driven from LA to Northern CA, Big Sur, Yellowstone, Death Valley, etc. I drove the hell out of it. I thought I was ready to move but somehow a freak accident happened, to delay me for some reason?

Was it mind over matter? I'm still not sure.

Not a single problem since, except one due to a mod I installed. The truck is quiet with none of the other problems mentioned. I love it, but I wish this had not happened so early. It's lingering in the back of my mind a bit.

Electrical Disaster

So I just thought I'd share this. Bought a 2014 4runner trail edition in dec 2013. Love it. Traded in my 05 taco. Anyways it was fine for quite a few months but the past three months or so have been different. 3 times now I have had to take it in for the same electrical issue. At random my seat belt light, airbag light, multi-terrain select, and trac lights will come on the dash. It was also flash across with..multi-terrain select not available. Also the key fob won't work and the electric door lock button on inside won't work either. Something new with the last time it happened is that the clock won't turn off even if key is not in. Toyota dealership has an engineer coming on Monday because they don't know what else to do!

Anyways love the truck but tired of it's electrical issues.

Update: So this time they are replacing the body control module! Hope it works. Toyota has already replaced the secondary air pump sensor and the passenger ecu.

Update as of Sep 8th....so it is still in the shop and not fixed :wtf:

Can feel vibration in steering wheel under moderate acceleration. Not sure if normal.
Also rear suspension creaks after driving a little.

Nothing big enough to take it in for yet.

Well they are still unsure. Service writer even said the Toyota engineer that came out was a little skeptical with what exactly was going on. Noticed something the other day when I was in the back with the Toyota tech. The RPM guage does not go down once the vehicle is turned off...it stays at the idle position as if it was still on. Tech seemed pretty confused about this as well haha.
