Hello all,
I have a T4R 2006 sport and a while ago half of my LCD backlight had gone black. To specify, I mean the LCD panel that is above the climate control knobs and the one that displace the miles until empty, time, temperature etc.
I looked on YouTube and found two videos detailing how to remove the frame by simply removing one screw and then unhinging the console. Well, this screw has proven to be impossible to take out. I started off by using a standard Philips screwdriver and after turning a couple of times it would first start to appear to loosen and then get hard again. Then, after a click or "snap" sound, the screw would get easier to turn until a couple of counter-clockwise rotations repeated this cycle over and over. It seems that I make absolutely no progress whatsoever in removing the crew. The clicking sound seems to be keeping the screw from being taken out. :wtf:
Is this by design? The videos online showed the screw being taken out without any difficulty. Although I did hear one of the videos mention how its a simple "lock" screw. If so, is there a specific way of removing a lock screw? I've been using needle-nose pliers, different screwdrivers, etc. to take this screw out with no success.
