Problems with 22re starting!!

Ok, I will give you the background as best I can with this new 'toy' I just bought a week ago. 91 22re motor just redone about 10k ago. When I went to bring the rig home I noticed that when I tried to excelerate, it seemed to hesitate and spudder. I thought maybe a vacuum line or something else pretty simple. New fuel pump and filter so not that. I thought I would get to that later on , had to do some body work. Truck sat for about a week and today I tried to start it. I had to turn it over quite a bit for it to start but it did eventually start. I stopped and started it many times throughout the day and it worked fine each time, no hard starts. Later on in the day I got home and let it sit for about 1 hour and I went to try to start it again and it would not start. I tried for about 30 minutes, no luck. I checked the fuel rail, gas is getting there. I check all the sparks plugs for spark, all have spark. At this point i do not know what could be the cause. It rained hard all day today but the motor compartment did not seem wet. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Since I am getting park through to the plugs shouldn't it start?

The sputtering sounds like some issues I had before one of my injectors stopped working. The way the injectors are wired, it's possible to lose 2 of them or even all 4 with only 1 or 2 bad wires. After it sits for a while, pull out the plugs and make sure they're dry, reinsert, try starting, and see if they're wet.

It may also not hurt to do a compression test in case something is off... It's a simple way to know if the mechanics are in good working order so you know you can move on to the electronics.

I figured it out!! :) I had a bunch of spare ignition parts so I started to change them all out. I started with the coil, that was not the problem. Tried new wires, still no fix. Then I took the ditributor off and changed the rotar, BINGO, noticed it was quite wore and that resolved the hesitation and starting problem WOOHOO!!

Just wanted to post this in case anyone else ran into the problem.
