Program valet key without Techstream?

Have been searching & searching and haven't found the answer yet, so apologies if this is a repeat.

2018 4Runner TRDORP

I want another grey key... valet key... the key with no buttons that will unlock and start the car.

I'm OK with paying the dealer the crazy cost to cut me a new key, but really don't want to pay another $150 to program it.

With my wife's Sienna, all you have to do is follow some crazy set of instructions on opening doors, inserting keys, standing on your head, signing some song backwards... and you can program a new key so long as you have a master key.

I have all original keys (2 master / black keys with buttons; 1 grey / valet key). I just need another valet key.

If it's not already clear, this car does NOT have keyless entry and does not have push-button start.

Is it possible to program a new valet key without software... by following some weird set of instructions?

[Why another valet key, you ask? I'm a SCUBA diver... one valet key is permanently attached to my buoyancy compensator and is a gigantic pain to use, but is there in case I forget my main valet key--which I wear around my neck along with my old dog tags. You don't want to take keys with buttons underwater!]

As a side note: I wouldn't mind getting Techstream and the cable, and some of the other stuff you can program sounds fun... but all my family computers are Macs and my work Windows laptop is locked down tight (I cannot install software)...

So if anyone knows how to run Techstream on a Mac, that'd be great too!

The cable was cheap off Amazon and the vmware install/imaging took only a few minutes to get it all up and running on a Mac.

Tech stream will not run on a mac, however windows will run on a mac and you can run techstream that way. I do it all the time.

Here's a link to my notes. There are several other techstream threads, that is just what worked for me. Also youtube has a bunch on vids on the process.

Also yes, techstream can program your t4r to recognize another key, grey or black or whatever as long as it's the correct version for your t4r. I personally have 5 keys programmed they all work fine....I think there is a max number, but don't recall what it is. Techstream will tell you when you add them how many more you can have.
