Thanks for the reply, but i did perform a search about keyless entry on this web site prior to my post and found something similar to my question, but it only applies to a 1999 4runner.

I forgot to say my 4runner doesn not have an alarm system.

if the programing for an '03 is as easy as a 1999 4runner, then this will be something i can do, if it is more involved than that, then i will have to rethink this. Does any one here have any hands on experience on programing the Keyless Entry Remote?
Or do you have the step by step instructions for it.

You give up too easily.....to be more creative when you search, and try different words. "Program key" leads to 38 topics, including this one:

Yes, I was searching under the words "Keyless Entry" and the results were various and I just could not get the exact info I was looking for.
