Well i have finally had it. After a complete flush and verifying the thermostat and waterpump are working I took it for a test drive. Not only did it still heat up ever so slowly... I smoked the F!#*ing transmission. After i cool off for a couple days im going to pull the pan to see if the filter tube came loose (no movement in any gear). It slipped big time twice under 1/4 throttle before it quit all together. If everything is intact it means torque converter, pump, or valvebody. In which case I am calling it quits and tearing the whole thing down and selling the pieces. Yes I am serious. I have used my rig twice for one day each and this will be the 4th transmission and 2nd engine. NOT F*!&ING WORTH IT. Oh and if things go right at work, the carcass will have det. cord and c4 ran through it. I will video it for everyone's enjoyment but mainly mine.
Because I have a 1967 GTO that i need to start working on and I dont like having toyota style lawn ornaments plus it just bugs me when something doesnt work right. I found out that I smoked the forward drum clutch pack. Not sure how or why it happened. The oil pan is full of black clutch material and my $100 of trans fluid is smoked... yay. I am going to fix it eventually but i have to save up for some traveling coming up. Guess you can count me out for Moab. Oh and we are supposed to get about 6" of rain. So yea when it rains it pours apparently.
Well im sitting here on staff duty on a 4 day!... SV should know something about it. I made some phone calls and found a race shop that would build my trans for $750 complete with converter. Just gonna reuse my shafts since they are 300m. Also having a custom triple pass radiator built for a whopping $450. It is a little bit bigger but holds coolant in the radiator 3 times as long to get more cooling time. Since I know I have good flow through the system, im blaming the overheating on the radiator. More power more problems.
