Project CoStMe

First I will address the name of this thread. Cool Steel Metallic. CoStMe. This is going to hurt my bank account. Costme.

I have big plans with this 4Runner. My last 4Runner was my daily, and I just did not have the funds available to acheive the mods and the look I wanted. I have since attained a pretty decent job that pays well (although I am lacking in time off in return) and have a 2012 Corolla as my daily driver, leaving my newly purchased 4Runner available to be torn apart for extensive periods of modifications :)

Plans:
DONE! 1) ARB Front bumper from previous t4r
2) Slee Offroad 3rd Generation 2.5" Old Man Emu Suspension Kit $800
3) Thanks to seeing TylerBaird's build thread... Level 8 Strike 6 Wheels 17x9 $525.00 (set of 5)
4) Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac LT285/70R17 $1500 (set of 5)
5) Tundra 231mm Brake Upgrade $450
6) Magnaflow Exhaust Kit (DoubleCab Tacoma) family price $125
7) ISR/Deckplate Mod
8) Satoshi Grill Mod
9) BudBuilt Skid and Belly Pan
10) ShrockWorks or Rocky Road Sliders $435
11) CBI or similar rear bumper with swing away
12) Bushwacker Flares

This definitely isn't going to be a fast build, but stay tuned over the coming months!

I had the OME kit for a while and found the ride a bit harsh - life is better with the Toyotec kit with the bilsteins. When unloaded the ride is better but the rear sags a bit when I load it up. If I were going to do hauling at night I'd probably look at air bags so I don't have people flashing me all night....

Good luck with the mods, the truck looks like a very clean slate to start with. Always kinda digged that color too :)

Sounds like a plan. Good choice on the wheels...you going with matte black too? Mad where are you getting 5 17x9s for $525?!?! I paid $500 for 4 16x8s a couple months ago...

Thanks everyone- can't wait to get going. Getting paid once a month sucks!

Matte black for sure! Discounttiredirect.com has them including lugs, valve stems, and free shipping for about $525 right now at $91.03/wheel.

I'm good with the OME kit- my dad's got his 4th gen on them as well, and I'm very impressed with them. And since this isn't a daily, a slightly harsh ride is not a huge concern for me. Although the adjustable coilovers would be nice!

No pictures yet...

but thanks to my dad, my old ARB is now installed! I would never have gotten it done myself with my work schedule.

Also received my TRD license plate frame, and swapped my l/w shift knob for one of my dad's carbon fiber ones to see if I like it any better.

Looking good so far, and pretty excited about what's to come. Looking at either sliders or OMEs being purchased at the end of the month.

Definitely one of the more unique colors of a 4Runner. Great list. Post some pics of the ARB when you get a chance!

Sadly...

Most of my list will have to wait now :/ Went to the dentist for the first time in 10 years today and there are huge expenses in my future :(

This WILL be happening asap!

For now, here is the ARB :)

While I'm still in a bind financially for a while longer, I did manage to come up with the money to buy a few things. I got a replacement clutch, antenna motor, and two manuals for the runner from a guy for a deal. I also got two bright LED lights to mount to the bumper (from my wonderful dad for Christmas).

Next I'm going to be looking into the lifts and making a purchase in the next couple months. Need to get stocked up on projects for it so my dad can stay busy helping me this coming summer :)
