projector head lamps

hey punk, that's not funny.

I prefer a reflector HID's, and the galactic grey paint scheme doesn't quite do it for me.

However, if the auction remains low, you'll see me in the running.

81130-35440 - headlight
81170 -35420 - headlight

81125-35440 - i think is the wiring for the turn signals? Not sure exactly.

I know you need h11 sockets though I believe since the 03-05 has a diff socket 9004 or something like that.

talk to the toyota body shop manager today and he said that the o6 front hood grill will fit fine of 03-05 4R and will cover the gap between the lower 06 headlight and trim piece perfectly on the 03-05 bumper!! anyone know the parts # for the fornt hood grill??

Eeeek, this is getting expen$ive. How much does a grill go for now? Those trim pieces can't be less than $50 each.... This has gotta be a $700+ complete HID retrofit from the numbers being tossed around so far....

# 81170 - 35420 $200.00 headlight
# 81125 - 35440 $17.50 Wiring loom for turn signals (use your old ones in conjunction).

im still waiting for a reply from sam about the metal under garnish not sure the part number.

$633.01 BEFORE buying the HID bulbs/ballasts...?! So we're looking at $900+ total?

I'm sure it'll look nice and all, but that's just too much loot for me to spend on some nice looking headlights. I'll toss in the quickie plug and play for under 400.

Finally some prices but yikes!!!!! $633.01
Plus for me the means changing my bulbs(9006) to my Hid kit only.

At this rate of these modifications, we'll better be off buying a new 4runner every year.

I WORK AT A TOYTOA DEALER SO I GET MY PARTS AT MY COST WHICH IS A LOT CHEAPER!!!!!

Does this mean that you can get us some group buy discounts for the guys that are interested here?

Btw, what's this part 81125-35440? I saw it too but wasn't sure what it was for.

Any ideas?

Lastly, how did you convert your plugs to the hid? I'm sure ppl here would be interested in exactly which parts you used for the hid conversion etc etc. Photos will be drooled at i'm sure too :)

Looks great!

So did you use a 9006 harness with an H11 rebased bulb? That's what the guys on the MDX forums are doing when they're converting their headlights from the 9006 reflectors to the H11 projectors.

$600-something dollars not including the HID's is a little steep for me. It'd probably be cheaper just to retrofit and HID projector into the stock 03-05 housing.

Thanks for taking the time to figure it out, it looks incredible.

To put HID into 2006 headlight, I beleive you need a pair of rebased d2s hid bulb, a pair of ballast and a set of wiring harness like this one: http://www.xenondepot.com/product.php?product_id=50
It allows you to draw power directly from the battery and protect your OEM wiring harness.

For ballast, stick with known brand like hella, phillips or DENSO which is oem for toyota/lexus.

You can also find some information on the difference between halogen & hid projector and some info on how to optimize blub placement in the projector on following page:
http://faqlight.carpassion.info/projector-unit.htm

Hope these will help you guys.:dancin:
