Projector-y LED Fog lights?

I saw this

and found myself wondering, do us measly 4th gen-ers get any hope for some kind of direct-replacement projector LED fog light? We have the space for some potentially pretty massive ones.

Has anyone heard of any such thing? Or are we stuck with reflectors or HID projectors only?

The early 4th gens had projector fogs, right? Is there any way to make those fit in a later 4th gen? It looks like the bumper opening is significantly different, but maybe without the yellow running light it would fit? has anyone ever tried it? I guess they wouldn't be LED, but at least it would be a step up from reflectors.

just upgrade your oem 06+ fogs to 9005 60w or 65w bulbs.

Those actually do look pretty similar now that I look closely at each, but I think the back side of the original 4th gen fog light housing is still fairly rectangular, but in a 4th refresh, the backside is decidedly more conical or circular. I don't think that'll work unfortunately :[

Right, but I was hoping for LED bulbs, not so much halogen, even if the halogens do produce better light. The reason is that I have my 4r set up to turn on the fogs, parking, and reverse lights when the key is not turned in the ignition and the car is unlocked (or any other time the DOME relay gets activated with the key not turned), and since I sometimes leave it like that for a few minutes, I want to not drain the battery on halogens.
Plus, LEDs will match color better with my 4300k HID setup, and I can find bright enough LED "bulbs" at around 4000-5000k color temp if I need to.

Additionally, the reason that I'm hoping for a cohesive projector-LED assembly is because with any luck it's got a cutoff (like the 5th gen compatible morimoto projector fog lights I linked earlier do) so that I can have some nice running lights that won't blind people like my current largely un-aimable fog lights do (although with 800ish lm per LED "bulb" that's currently in there, it's not so much blindingly bright as it is blindingly white), but still might suffice as street legal-ish "headlights" in cities, where my HID low beams will flash people's rear-view mirrors as I go over bumps.

I threw some 3000k hids in my stock fogs. Works pretty well...
