People pay for the low mileage/no rust ones. Especially because there isn't the option of looking in a different state, unless you want to pay about $1250 to have it shipped over. And sight unseen is a ***** to buy also.

I paid almost $14k for my 01 SR5 6 years ago with 115k miles and SCer
I admit, I overpaid a little, but it was super clean and would rip the doors off the non-supercharged one I tested before it. Plus I was upside down on my brand new taco... Oh well, I love it and its paid for. More mods please

Low mileage?? lol! Like I said, when you have a chance, lurk the Hawaii CL ad's. 200k mile Toyota's going for 15g's. Rust buckets going for 10g's.

My first 4runner, was a 99' with 160k miles from Cali....bought that thing for 8g's and sold it for 8500. Small kine cancer on the rear bumper and underneath, but overall a solid base.

In all honestly I'm not surprised it fetched that much. You know as well as I do that 4runners go for well above KBB in Oregon.

That's for sure. I've already started my hunt for another, in hopes of pouncing on one that someone is looking to dump. Gots to be clean though!

I wasn't saying that those ones were rust free, I was however making the assumption that they were rust free hence the higher price. I am from hawaii, I know that a good 98% of the used cars are total rust buckets.

Same motor, same transmission, same axle, same FRAME!

Different frame. At least from behind the cab. From there it becomes a c-channel whereas the 4Runner is boxed.

Looks great, but also looks like they did some rust covering on the undercarriage. If they did it right, that's great. If they did it just to cover it, no bueno.
