Proper measurement from ground for HID

Just installed the xenondepot HID kit, very easy, but I did not measure original light pattern and realized this after the fact.

I am going to make any needed adjustments tonight but thought I'd ask the forum...at 25ft away from garage on a flat surface, what should the distance be from ground up?

I am also running the OME 3 inch lift kit.

Flat ground hotspot or cut off should be ~2.5" lower than your bulb height now.

I should have clarified my response. ... Link states 2.1"-2.5" drop @25'.... since you have a lift, I suggested 2.5" drop to lesson the chance you blind oncoming drivers.

Ultimately it's a guide and you just need to drive around and verify it's acceptable drop.

i should have put cheat in quotation marks, an asymmetric headlight pattern is the proper way to adjust your headlights. in fact SAE standards require an asymmetric pattern

neither should be aimed too high to cause problems for other drivers, but the driver side should be aimed lower than passenger

I'm going to get on one end of the street and my friend is going to get in his car and face me, make a couple passes to make sure I'm not blinding him.
