i tend to be a bit of an optimist. with my little ford ranger v6 i had it got 28mpg constantly no matter what. people can always dream right???

Well done on buying a real car instead of a car simulator(automatics).

There are no headers or intakes that will give you better MPG in this truck. (At least not any worth putting in for that purpose.) Just keep the air filter clean and the stock will do fine. Seriously, any money spent chasing a higher MPG value is usually best spent on just buying more gas.

As perviously mentioned, your O2 sensor could help, you want Denso 2344161 unless you are a CA truck. Personally, I'd wait till it throws a code.

Also, if you get sticky 1st and R in the cold, change the tranny fluid.

Nice pick-up. I'm currently going to U of I right now. What's funny is that I bought a 96 sr5 auto with 210k from the original owner for 4500 a few months ago. I'm wishing I would've waited haha. Mine came with new tires though so that was a bonus. They're 265/75r16 toyo open country at's and they've been great tires so far on and off road!

I just got a OEM alloy wheel to replace the nasty spare-put a 265/75/16 on it and it fit back underneath just fine. Not a whole lot of room to spare, though. (no pun intended).

my grandfather told me about him buying a 56 chevy nova and he wanted an auto tranny because it was easier to drive when he had a girl next to him... :..... if you know what i mean... anyway! he was pissed because the auto tranny was really spendy... he recently got a 2012 tacoma and he was pissed off again because he wanted a stick shift but had to pay extra for it. wtf? people just getting to lazy to drive one?????

anyways.... 5 speed was a must for me. Im glad i found this deal when i did. thanks for all the complements by the way!!!
