This question of yours might be better served offline via email instead of cluttering the thread with something that doesn't really pertain to this vehicle make.

To answer your question. I would need more information and it's likely you need to email me to talk about it.

I installed my remote start/security system last month and I am very happy with the outcome. Steve took the time to answer all my questions before settling on a system that worked for my needs. During the install I had a little issue and sent a text to Steve. Within minutes he gave me a call back, walked me through the issue I was having. And everything worked. Steve was very patient and knowledgeable of these products. Any looking for a remote start and or security system should not hesitate to contact Steve.

2 years and 65,000 miles later: I still love my CompuStar system from Steve! :thumb:

thank you, i still follow your adventures on IG!!

wow, ok. firstly, i have a camry, which makes it the same make as a 4runner. second, how exactly am i supposed to be served offline via email? i've looked around the internet a lot and this thread is the closest thing i've found to possibly getting an answer to my problem, so the patronization attempts aren't necessary. besides, trying to get information from compustar is trivial.

as for additional information, i purchased my t11 kit through a local vendor and had it installed by them(C.A.R. audio and security in Wake Forest, NC.) i found an ezgo through amazon a week later and the same shop said it wasn't possible to install due the ezgo itself being dated technology making it incompatible with my t11 kit. i'm curious if anything like this has happened to you or anyone you know regarding the t11 and ezgo.

thank you

So just because they are the same make everything should work the same? I see no logic in this. You should stop while you can. Maybe you need to read this entire thread and realize that Steve has repeatedly said that reaching out to him on this forum is not the best way. He prefers email and is more responsive that way. Good luck on your Camry.

Hi there,

So here is my email so I can help you, which is also in my signature below. gshadow325 at Gmail.

Getting info from Compstar is actually not that hard. They can be reached on Facebook messager, by calling them 8888203690. Extension 203.

Instead you choose a 4 runner forum to seek help on your Camry. It's ok. We have the same mother, Toyota, but we are different. We are not identical twins like everyone else here in this forum.

It is understandable why you are so frustrated and seeking help from the internet. Ezgo tech is actually not dated tech, it's probably way ahead of it's time as a matter of fact. This comment and this comment alone, tells me a lot about the retailer you had encounters with. They either don't understand it or they fired you as a customer. Retailers fire clients because of many reasons, I don't know what pertains to you. Retailers don't know about the ezgo because of the lack of experience with the product lineup or ignorance to it.

First off congrats on finding a ezgo on Amazon. They are discontinued.
Second, I don't know what platform you have but there are more than 4 platforms you can have the t11 remote work on.
Third, the two reasons above is the reasons why I said to take this conversation offline AKA off this thread, this forum because the conversation will be for you and not pertaining to the subject of this thread. Although it's all good information to know but not relevant to the 4 runner.

I sincerely hope this makes sense for you. Can we just move this conversation to email? Even using the private messaging system on here would be better than in this thread. It would take much longer for responses.

I do want to help you, your frustrations with the situation you are in May not see this clearly. No one is as sad as me seeing the demise of the ezgo. I love this product and everything it is capable of doing.

I look forward to you email or private messaging.

Steve

Hey all, just wanted to give another HUGE shoutout to gshadow325 for helping me with my full security and remote start compustar purchase and install on my '16 LE.

I first contacted Steve almost a year ago, and he gave me everything I needed to get the job done. He drilled into me, and many others, to contact him during the install. I did not do that, and that resulted in months of issues for my system. I tried installing without his guidance, and without EVER installing anything electrical on my truck, let along soldering. I did not install it correctly because I did not follow his instructions, nor did I call him for guidance. I then tried to fix it myself, like a stubborn dumbo. Bad idea.

I finally put my tail between my legs and gave Steve a call to say I needed help. Rather than make me feel like a complete idiot (which I deserved), he asked what went wrong and immediately had solutions. I mailed my entire system back to him, he rewired it, harnessed it, programmed it and send it back to me with new instructions in only a few days. I followed those to a T, and now I have a fully operational system with some really sweet features (EZGO, Drone, RPS Touch). Steve cared more about my truck than I did, and it showed.

No question, go Compustar and go through Steve!

Installed my compustar system with Drone mobile from gshadow325 and it was the best decision I ever made when it comes to an alarm system. The instructions were straight forward. When I ran into an issue gshadow325 walked me through the steps to get everything working properly. Ive had the system for over a month and love it. Only thing left to install is the shock sensor (it was backordered)

Definitely would recommend the product for anyone in the market for an alarm system

Got to thank gshadow325 for sending me info for the install after I put off doing it for nearly 6 months! I ordered the full setup other then the EZ-Go and man does he spend a lot of time making it just about 100% plug and play!

Install was a lot easier then I thought it would be and had I started before it got dark, it would have been much faster! Got everything installed other than the alarm siren but that can wait for another day.

Now I just need to read up on programming in Aux controls.

4 years omg

I cant believe it has been 4 years doing this for you guys!

I must say i have talked to a lot of guys and made a ton of friends!
Thank you guys for your support!

gshadow325 Remote Start

Warning...Lengthy Post... Warning...

Guys and girls, I have to tell you, I have been searching for an aftermarket remote start I could control with my phone for quite some time. The local shops charge an arm and a leg for what I wanted and after a very bad experience ordering an item from a vendor on this very site (it took over a year after I paid to receive my item that claimed to be a 30 day out product) I was reluctant to do so again. However I recently purchased the remote start package from gshadow325 :bravo: based solely on his customer's feedback and I have to say... this guy restored my faith in humanity! 100%, hands down, the best buying experience I have EVER had with any product. I promise you I could not have received any better service if I were standing in the middle of a store with 5 or 6 sales people right in front of me. That's a fact!

The system was simple to install with detailed instructions supplied. When It come time to activate everything.....nothing! CRAP! gshadow325 encourages you to call with any issues whatsoever. I messaged him and we set up a time that he could devote just to me and my issue. When I got him on the phone is where the brilliance really stood out! As I was telling him the issue I was having with my install, he promptly got to the most important issue, "how is your family? Have you been able to take a vacation or spend time away with your wife and kids?" HUH? Wait, what? Dude is not rushing me off the phone, he's not blowing me off because he already got my money, no, he's asking about my family. We proceeded to get to know about each other, our history, our children, what we want for the future. He even managed to solve my issue in about 45 seconds total, while driving in traffic, with no manuals or instructions he diagnosed it right down to the colors of the two wires that were not making a connection (my fault). He stayed on the phone with me the entire time until I was satisfied with my install.

Folks, this is a lengthy post I know, but a very worthy one for such an amazing experience. For the first time in a very, very long time I feel like I was treated the way I try to treat and care for people (I'm in the healthcare field). What a great person to do business with. I guarantee he will continue to give you outstanding service even after the sell! Thanks gshadow325, it was an awesome experience!

Watched the videos, particularly the use of the remote start from the factory key as well as the phone. Interested.

Where can I find pricing, etc?

WOW! Thank you very much for the kind words! I promise this was not a paid or fake review....this is not casting couch or fake taxi :wink:wink: LOL

It was solicited, i mean... I do ask everyone to leave their honest review or the product, the process, and the service and support. I strive to treat everyone as i wish everyone treated me with these kind of things. Just tell everyone here, Steve is a a-hole and why, or Steve is great and why. Each and every one of these reviews are real members on here. Many have moved on to other vehicles and I have done the same for their new rides.

My info is in my signature but when we use mobile it never shows up. its gshadow325 at gmail. its easiest to grab me there. I'll shoot you a PM.

Just bought a New to me 2017 SR5 and my insurance wants me to install an alarm. I've been searching around the forum for alarm ideas and gshadow325/Steve keeps coming up. Emailing him now as he seems to be quite knowledgable. :fishing:

As for the install, I'm can take the center console and dash apart. But about the siring, I'm 'ok' at soldering wires when I have to. But how much wire is there to work with from the Toyota side of the equation? Basically if I mess up, do i get a second chance at the solder joint?

great chatting with you the other day offline. I hope i was able to answer all your questions.

so for this new season compustar came out with some enhancements.

totally plug and play now for both sr5 and limited vehicles.
full security is still an option! the others dont have this.
I include a switch blank for the LED indicator.
3 mile range 2 way is available now AND comes with Drone mobile.
still upgradeable to full security if you want it later!

i do still have some of the systems that require 2 connections and no auto light controls. old stock, these systems will be discounted. no difference in the new vs old just what i mentioned above.
