Pulled over for tint

Well I didnt think this was going to ever happen to me...

Luckily the state tropper happened to be a member of t4r! What are the chances? So he recognized me and let me off with a warning. I was completely shocked to hear the name sn0wrunner come out of the officer's mouth. lol!

Trooper T,

Just wanted to say thanks for letting me off with the warning, but i've been driving around with this tint for a couple years now and I'm not going to be removing it. Technically you never said i had to remove it. You were just warning me that it is illegal. :biggrin2:

Like i said, i appreciate the warning and it was nice to meet you. Shoot me a PM if you want to go wheeling!

sn0wrunner,

What a kool story!!

Wow...I heard that Colorado folks are chill, didn't know cops are too.

I like that...they are doing real jobs, like fight crime, not give petty tickets.

So did he pull you over for the tint? Or did he pull you over, just to say Hello?!?!

hahaha! I'm starting to wonder the same thing... I've honestly never had a problem with my tint before. I think it was an excuse to say hello. lol

I got caught using the carpool lane & for having my front windows tinted...shit, they are only 35%.

Anyways...my citation came in the mail & there was an option to contest it, remove the tint and pay a lower fine or just pay more & leave it on (dismissed & no further action necessary)

See...California are money hungry. Cops here are pigs. It's because of the Governator.

If they haven't changed carpool to a moving violation, look on the bright side. No points, traffic school and driving like an angel for the next 18 months. Could be a lot worst. ;):

Maybe you needed darker tint and they can't see you're solo occupancy.

Or get the hell out of that concrete jungle and not have to deal with that Bulls**t traffic. Which is what I imagine you were trying to avoid when using the c pool lane.

You should put a t4r.org sticker on your car, and he probably pulled you over because he liked ur runner and tints was a good excuse.

That's pretty neat...hopefully he will identify himself so we can all ask those "What can I get away with" questions!!:lookout:

That was a cool story.:guitar2: 2 weeks ago, I got pull over for doing 52 in 35. Ticket total was $385. T4R sticker might save me some $$$.

yeah, but I'd prefer not to say cause im not sure if he would want that. He can post up if he doesnt care. But out of respect for him I'd rather not to say.

now thats showing some class, respect whatever ya want to call it. I knew you was a good guy, lol

I'm surprised the Littleton police haven't pulled you over yet man... they have waaay too much time and money on their hands and all they do is stupid stuff like that.

I even saw an undercover SUV, I think it was something like a red GMC envoy with a ski rack on it... ridiculous that they pull stuff like that. Not like they don't catch enough drivers in the marked cars.

Wow,I'm surprised they pulled you over for that;I live in Littleton and have had very dark tint on all my vehicles since '95 and I've pulled over alot (when I had the sports car) and never once was my tint mentioned.

I've been pulled over 3 times in my 4Runner over the last 4 years and still no comment on my tint but I'm not taunting any members that could be CO troopers to do so.

Yes sir...not infraction on the record.

However...(2) weeks later, I got a moving violation. Now I have to do traffic school. :cry2:

RonMAIDEN,

Dang Mister!! I thought your getting pulled over days were behind you.

Thai,

Do people in Texas even get pulled over? Since you guys can carry conseal.

Discretion is a wonderful thing...

Tint. Smoky tint. What's up playa!?
Actually, most tint laws are designed to protect those who "protect" you.
My advice, and no I'm not that guy, who stopped that other guy...is if you get pulled over and you happen to have tint on your windows, ROLL THEM DOWN! Then put your interior lights on if it is dark out. (another law in some states) Po-Po wants to be able to see inside said vehicle when he/she approaches it. They want to see your hands too. Remember drivers-ed classes, "ten and two"? Good place to put your little beaters until the Man asks you for your, reg, insurance, and license.

Or you can move to FL.

Be careful out there.

CHL people are law-abiding folks...always! :) (Anyway, i can't speed in my G because it eats too much gas...not sure if i can even go fast in my minivan!)
