so i get pulled over today by the fort bend sheriff for my blue LED license plate lights and my burnt out 3rd roof mounted brake light. now i want to replace them with better LEDs. if yall had a place to go, please let me know?

and now im having a dome light problem as well on my 4th gen. i replaced it with LEDs and now they work on and off, and checked the fuse and it was ok. anyone have any idea what might be going on? it seems to work occassionally but not all the time.

thanks!

Your factory high-mount stop light is burned out? Is it in the rear wing or on the truck? That seems odd for an LED to stop working this soon, and the ones I've seen fail usually fail partially not completely. How many miles do you have on it?

well its on the truck, i dont think its LED. i think only the wing high mount light is LED. and mine is an 06 with only 26356 miles on it.

you didnt say where you bought your leds, & if you did any wiring yourself? if so , check it for bad ground or loose, or uncovered wires. does the problem happen to both the dome & cargo light? if not, again , check wires on the one with the trouble, wires can come loose or out of the plastic connecters. v-leds smt are decent, & the company has good replacement for bad ones. my advise in not to get the cheapest bulbs you can find. but even good, more $ ones go bad. as far as the blue lic. plate bulbs, you should of known that state or local laws dont allow blue or red outside the vec. except for cops, emer, etc. also, no color but white can be used for plate illumination. id put a long lasting as opposed to led in the 3rd brake light, but polarg with magnifing lens are pretty good too.

" my advise in not to get the cheapest bulbs you can find"..

:iagree:

Because I can't wait for my LEDs to ship, I bought few from PEP boys, then Ebay, yes they're cheap. They only lasted 3-5 days.

(Now, that I have the sockets, I bought quality LEDs from Radioshack and resistors and I only spent $6 for a pair. Also it doesn't need many leds as long as you choose the one w/ higher mcd and wider viewing angle.)

Now that cops are strict, I took off my blue license plate leds..
