2005 SR5 V6 4WD. would i be ok pulling out hedges and there root system from the tow hitch without harming the truck?
Yes, slow and easy. I pulled a huge bolder (im talking huge and half buried) with my then 96 4runner when I was having my house built, worked like a charm. Hedges don't normaly have a deep root base so go slow at first, ease the throttle dont mash it and make sure the chain/rope is secured b/c you dont want that thing slapping your tailgate or rear glass if or when it comes loose.
i would use a recovery strap over a chain for this.
Ditto, if you have one of course...
Absolutely NOT!i would use a recovery strap over a chain for this.
Absolutely NOT!
Recovery straps are elastic. Unless you want to risk launching the plant/stump at your tailgate, then use a chain or a non-elastic extension strap.
Watch this video and picture what might happen if the stump suddenly lets go.
