Pulsing while braking

I got my front rotors replaced along with new pads a little less than a year ago, and now the pulsing is back that I had before I got new rotors. They are OEM from Toyota, installed by a dealer too. I'm thinking that the drums are out, could I be right? To my knowledge, the pads haven't been replaced ever.

it is possible that your drums are out and the shoes are bad in the rear but probably not. when the brakes are applied i think its 70% on the front and 30% on the rear, those are not exact so i apologize if somone knows the exact percentages. it could be the front brakes are warped again, it could also mean a tire is out of balance, or the alignment is off-kilter. so where you want to start is up to you. do you pull a trailer very often? does it pulse any other time besides when braking? does your e-brake hold firmly? or do you have to pull the handle as hard as you can to get it to hold? does it pulse more when turning?

It's a 2002 and I just got new tires on about 1000 miles ago. The shoes in the back have never been replaced, and I hope my disks are not warmed already.

And by that I mean worn

did you get it aligned when you got the tires put on? do you pull a trailer very often? does it pulse any other time besides when braking? does your e-brake hold firmly? or do you have to pull the handle as hard as you can to get it to hold? does it pulse more when turning?

Yes I got an alignment and a balance and I do not pull a trailer. My ebrake does hold firmly

i would probably say that your rotors are warped again. because if your ebrake holds firm then your rear drums and shoes are good. but since i cant drive it to actually feel it. i am not 100% sure on it being warped rotors. i guess all i can say is i tried and failed, sorry.

I might do the tightening trick on my rear drums/ ebrake and see if that fixes it, but thanks anyways now I have some stuff to think about

sounds like a front warp rotors again to me. rotor wrap can be cused by water splashing on the rotor which rapidly cooling it down. warp rotor happends on the alot 4runner, the brake on our 3rd gen are very undersize.

I hope that this isn't the case. Could I turn them and see if that makes a difference? I don't dare say how much I paid for the new rotors, via the dealer...

once they are warp they are no longer good even if you turn them.

this is one reason why some do the Tundra/Sequoia brake conversion. its well worth the time and money you spend on it.

dude DO the tundra brake upgrade..... I wasted a ton of money on brakes before I stumbled upon this site and YT and finding the tundra upgrade... I have had them for about a year now with no problems at all and it stops on a dime... dont waste any more time or money on stock garbage... do the upgrade... so worth it... do some searching plenty of post about it...

p.s. you will kick yourself in the @$$ if you dont do it when the stock rotors warp again.. and again.. and again!!!! =)
