Punk Kids

If they are under 18 years old, their parents can be held legally liable for their actions. Document the trespasses and damages, photograph them for identification, and then sue their parents in small claims court (this will force the parents to be more involved). If anything, you might get compensated financially for the damages and possibly court fees, and push for the judge to legally bar them from entering your property. If that can happen, the next trespass will result in criminal charges against them.

this is actually great. pictures, get their names from the police reports, then press charges against the parents for the kids trespassings, or potentially for neglect of their kids or whatever. I mean, if the kids are running around, isn't that a CPS thing. Could always get them involved. Anyway, point is, take it to small claims, if you win you could settle in court saying the parents pay for your fence and a security system and you'll drop the charges. Or something along those lines. Or just sue them for cash money, then you can post on the "how to you pay for your mods" thread that you sue punk kids parents and WIN.

I am very vindictive, so I would get CPS involved for neglecting their kids. Best case scenario is the kids get relocated to a different family.

what makes you think just because they aren't AT home, they are being neglected? that's quite an assumption. do you even know how old they are?

people like you ruin families.

It is a mixed group of middle schoolers. It seems since they are on summer vacation they are causing a little more trouble than during the school year.

Odd thing is I think they are just trying to show boat some too. My wife confronted them yesterday for loitering in our drive way and after giving her lip she went off a little on them resulting in a "yes mam". Kids who have at least some respect say "yes mam" although I have never gotten a "yes sir" which tells me more than likely a father figure isn't in the mix.
piccrazy30 I will get a few shots when I get home tonight.

String 80# test fishing line 4-6" above the ground along their path. Then watch them FACEPLANT!!! :thumb3: :flipoff:

Do they go through the back too? There's two or three signs back there. You have a nice looking property!

I see the problem....they don't have a sidewalk to walk on

Yeah, my wife doesn't want any more thorny bushes than we already have. All those hedges that run the length of the paver wall have thorned leaves that suck. Our 1 year old has run into them a few times which wasn't a good encounter.

The are three signs posted the two on one side between my neighbor and I then one on the tree visible from the street on the side of the house. All of which are pretty hard to miss. I know my neighbor has expressed his distaste for their behavior as well; they used his hose and left the water on one day.

Thanks piccrazy30 ; we just purchased back in February. The neighborhood is not a bad I one as a few people have suggested. Pretty nice middle/upper middle class homes that are well maintained.

I think the sprinkler is going to be my next purchase.:)

The only time you should pull a firearm is if you intend to double tap center mass.

Unless you are prepared to use the weapon pulling it out is false bravado.

Sigh.....

Problem with the world today.
When I was a kid and still living in Poland things like this weren't tolerated. If the problem persisted you'd better be a fast runner cause once you got caught your ass would get beat (You wouldn't actually get beat up but more of a spanking or a good kick in the ass) if you were lucky that was the end of it. If you weren't and they new your parents/guardians (in my case my grandparents) you'd get dragged home and have to explain what you did... Right before another ass kicking.

Couple years ago we had kids spray painting graffiti all over the alley and side of my building (work), once they sprayed a 5ton cube van. Took me 4hrs to clean it with lacquer thinner. Hell they even broke into a customers car to practice how to break windows with the screwdriver wedge technique. Noting was missing, didn't even take the change from the ash tray and two windows were damaged.

I knew who the kids were, over a few months I scoped out where one of them lived. God knows I wanted to do something real bad, but they were real shit heads so it was go big or go home. If I would have done something small I'm pretty sure the cars outside would of gotten vandalized and if I did any thing big... well it wasn't worth charges or jail time.

The good part of the story is they grew up and started doing drugs :reddance: now they had better things to do the spray my walls.
I saw one of the kids across the street at my local shopping mall on a cut/drunk walk home one night, right away I could tell he was high and was either asking people for change or trying to sell. Got a real dirty look from me. I think he almost pissed his pants as I got closer, and last minute he ducked into the mcdonalds as I passed. Probably wouldn't have done any thing but still was nice to give him a scare.

Before you set up the sprinkler I suggest setting up a trail cam, ya I know its costly but if they decide to vandalize anything you'll be covered.

This about sums it up. Sprikler idea sounds cool but it also sounds like a surefire way to get your truck egged.

O.K. here it is, Very simple. Go out and slap one of them down in the dirt, Then wait for cops to get there. Very soon after that you won't have to worry about them any more. It's payday for them.

That's the best response. Trust us old guys, cops will probably ask why you didn't do it sooner.

Post them as punks on Facebook, sooner or later they'll see themselves.

Get a fake flash camera, most convenience stores use the dummy cameras. They go off by noise or motion and flash. Probably enough to get stupid kids to find another shortcut.

If they tend to go through your yard at a certain time of day you can just have the sprinklers on at that time. No need to rig it to surprise them.
