Q for you guys with a grille guard

I've always assumed that adding one to your car will decrease wind resistance, gas, etc. My question is how bad ? Adding 50+lbs of steel to the front of a T4R isn't like adding a lip spoiler, obviously. Any casual or scientific observations on how your ride, handling and gas milege is affected ?

Some real honest answers would be greatly appreciated.

I plan to go with a T&H Euro bar and then color key it to my titanium silver...

I haven't noticed any ill affects after adding mine which is only 50lbs.

I didn't buy the 4Runner thinking I'd be getting great gas numbers :

Check my spreadsheet in my signature and you'll see that with my safari bar and driving lights, my gas mileage hasn't really changed much.

50lbs?!?! Thats alot for a grill guard, or just for anything that not really going to be used.

I have the westin safari bar to hold my lights and it works great and its even protected the front end on several occasions of 4wheeling

Curious to know how heavy a Manik or WAAG grille guard (not a safari guard like yours) would weigh.

I have Manik Stainless Steel Grille Guard. I didn't notice any significant changes. Drives the same way, looking much, much better. I love it. All my previous SUVs had Grille Guards and all future will have.

i think you should get one more set of lights, im not quite sure if 4 aux lights plus fog lights and headlights will be enough

my cousin has all that plus a police spot light above the driver's door on her RAV4. It's hilarious.
