QQ... compressing strut XREAS w/o removing

Hi,

I purchased cornfed 2/1.5 for my LE. I asked the dealership to install them prior to me picking up the truck. Just got off the phone with them and he indicated he won't be able to put the spacer in w/o removing the strut and using a compression tool. That would disconnect the XREAS and that...becomes expensive.

I thought (actually was hoping) there is a way/tool to compress the spring and put in the spacer w/o the need to remove and disconnect the XREAS system. Been searching youtube and it looks like most remove the coil-overs to compress them.

I know folks here have spacer lifts on their LE's, just wondering if they disconnected them.

They told me the truck will sit till Monday and if I had any ideas...let them know, else they won't be putting the spacers in.

BTW, the dealership is good. They just completed my S/C installation so I'm not worried about their skill set. The service guy explained they have done these before but not on LEs.

Not familiar with cornfed but I did the Daystar on my LE. If it's a top spacer, the strut stays in tact the whole time. I have a write up on how to do it (search those thinking about Daystar). If it's a preload spacer they will need to use the no compressor method with the stut still in the truck.

Thank you. It is a preload spacer so they have to squeeze the spring down. I just thought you could do this w/o removing it. May have to look for a top spacer. But I was hoping to use the preload to stop the node diving. My wife’s LE is stock and has the known dive when stopping...still very comfortable for her and she doesn’t mind it.
