I know there are plenty of people out there with more miles but it is still pretty impressive. I've driven plenty of other vehicles with a fraction of the miles that felt sloppy and had numerous issues.

Congratulations on getting to the "second half" of your 4runner's lifetime! Honestly, these things just keep going and going. My extended family (son, daughter, and me) own 5 4runners, 4 of which are between 200,000 and 300,000 miles. Not one has had any engine work beyond plugs, oil changes, and timing belts, and I would confidently drive any one of them coast to coast at any time.

The "baby" is my '06, with a meager 140,000 on it. Just getting broke in.

My 94 is pushing 247k and runs like a top. Had to do the head gaskets a few years back. Considering it never did the factory recall it was no big deal. Other than routine maintenance including a few timing belt changes it's been 100% reliable and runs perfect. Only have had to replace starter, alternator and water pump. In a 23yo truck that's nothing.

How long have you owned it? I've got 140,500 miles on my 12 year old 4Runner that I bought brand new. I want to keep it at least 20 years.

I bought it in 2007 with 120k on it. I just bought a 2017 TRD Pro but am keeping the 94 as my commuter and for the kids to take skiing. I can at least get another 100-200k out of it no problem. I take really good care of the engine and drive train. So other than normal age failures (starters, alternators, brakes, etc.) there is no reason it wont last longer. Still runs strong. Same MPG as when I first bought it.

Does not use oil at all. not burn it, not leak it.

Once I fixed all the leaks (valve covers and rear main seal), oil consumption is zilch on my '94 at 215K.

Are you the original owner? I bought an 03 Sport V8 in silver brand new back in 2003 and sold it less than a year later. I've always wondered what happened to that truck. I was in NoVa at the time when I traded it in.

Congrats Brian, very cool. I just did the timing belt at 318xxx miles and can't believe how everything is so tight. The coolant passageways were uber clean, no gunk or anything. Same with the radiator. I drained the block completely as well as the radiator and put in two fresh gallons of Toyota Red. The crank and cam seals were still bone dry so I left them alone. This engine is simply amazing as well as the rest of the vehicle.

No oil loss or anything out of the ordinary for me. Next project is a spark plug change. I can't find any record of it ever being done.
[MENTION=97032]hearno[/MENTION] I am not the original owner. I bought it about 2.5 yrs ago with 209k. Seemed a little crazy but it apparently was a decent decision. Guy I bought it from was the second owner and he bought it certified pre-owned from a dealer in Richmond.

Yea my family had a '95 4Runner and that thing was truly a beast aside from head gasket issues...then my oldest brother eventually destroyed the truck with lack of care during college years (which cost him for the rest of his career by getting rides from friends to get around town/travel back home!) :naughty:

My family had a '95... I had a '99 before it got totaled. I have a backup '04 4Runner SR5 V8 that was replaced by then '07 Sport that was eventually totaled few months later. I found another current '07 Sport to replace my 1st '07 so needless to say I'm never switching to a different brand / model for the rest of my life.
