Question about 2002 Sport...

The wife will drive this 4Runner for the next while - and she's not a big fan of heavy mods. The running boards will be removed fairly quickly. And she's in full agreement on that. When it becomes my main vehicle, it'll see a few things for sure. There's a 4Runner from here on T4R.org that is sort of my dream look. I can't remember who owns it (or even if they're current on here) - but I downloaded a photo they once put up. In my eyes it's one of the best looking 4Runners I've seen. Just super clean lines, but agressive all in one. So I'll be doing a lift (I think it's about a 6" lift) - and new rims/tires. Not sure what else though. I may consider aftermarket front and rear bumpers - but we'll see. It'll be fun building it all in my mind over the next while.

Congrats on the new purchase! I can see Pitt's point in the pic, but also see how it can just be the way it was shot and the lighting at the time.

I don't know who's rig that is, but it's SWEET! Good goal to have for sure. The one thing I'd say is that I'd probably stay away from doing a 6" lift. It's not really ideal for these things unless you do an SAS, which can be pretty expensive. If it's going to be mainly on the street and you REALLY want to do it, go for it. Otherwise I'd look at a 3" lift and if that's not enough, some sort of additional body lift.

Yeah, you're right. I really should keep it to a 3" lift. 6" might be too much, and to do it properly does mean a bigger investment. I can fool myself into thinking I may get off-road with it enough to make that worth it - but the reality is I doubt I would. A 3" lift would look great too - and balanced with nice rubber to match that. Those rims on the red one above here too are just beauty!! I'd want something very similar.
